magnetoreception: optimal design of receptor molecules, cells, and neuronal processing

چکیده
The sensory basis ofmagnetoreception in animals still remains amystery. One hypothesis ofmagnetoreception is that photochemical radical pair reactions can transducemagnetic information in specialized photoreceptor cells, possibly involving the photoreceptor molecule cryptochrome. This hypothesis triggered a considerable amount of research in the past decade. Here, we present an updated picture of the radical-pair photoreceptor hypothesis. In our review, we will focus on insights that can assist biologists in their search for the elusive magnetoreceptors.

متن کاملMolecular Docking Based on Virtual Screening, Molecular Dynamics and Atoms in Molecules Studies to Identify the Potential Human Epidermal Receptor 2 Intracellular Domain Inhibitors
Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family having tyrosine kinase activity. Overexpression of HER2 usually causes malignant transformation of cells and is responsible for the breast cancer. In this work, the virtual screening, molecular docking, quantum mechanics and molecular dynamics methods were employed to study protein–ligand ...
متن کاملInduction of Human Embryonic Stem Cells into neuronal differentiation by increasing cyclic Adenosine Mono Phosphate
Introduction: To evaluate the cAMP -mediated IBMX (3-IsoButyle -1-Methyl Xanthin) and db-cAMP (dibutyryl cAMP) effects on differentiation of human Embryonic Stem Cells (hESCs) into nerve cells were the objectives of this study. Methods: We have used Royan H1 hESC- derived embryoid bodies with four treatment groups: six days treatment with IBMX (5×10 -4M) and db-cAMP (10 -9M) (referred to as...

Diabetes Mellitus as a common metabolic disorder in women of reproductive age is rising throughout the globe. Diabetes in pregnancy has various adverse outcomes on different organs development including the central nervous system (CNS) and it can cause learning deficits, behavioral problems and motor dysfunctions in the offspring. The cerebellum is a part of brain that coordinates voluntary mov...
متن کاملDiscovery of Novel Glucagon Receptor Antagonists Using Combined Pharmacophore Modeling and Docking
Glucagon and the glucagon receptor are most important molecules control over blood glucose concentrations. These two molecules are very important to studies of type 2 diabetic patients. In literature, several classes of small molecule antagonists of the human glucagon receptor have been reported. Glucagon receptor antagonist could decrease hepatic glucose output and improve glucose control in d...
